This should not come as a surprise to us because we are all the time stressed out; we sleep less than 8 hours and our diet on the go does not work in our favor.
There are so many factors which trigger headaches. Every time you have a headache the easiest thing to do is taking a pill, but for those of you who do not like all the harmful chemicals in your system try these natural methods:
Cool compress – It acts as local anesthetic. You do not need ice. You can just get some frozen peas wrap them up in a towel and place them on your forehead of temples. Another way to go is a soaked towel in cold water.
Tea bags of mint over closed eyes – Soak two tea bags in hot water. Lay down on a flat surface and place them over your eyelids. Leave them for ten minutes.
Massage your temples with essential mint oil – This oil decreases headaches. Besides the temples you can massage your neck and shoulders to relieve the tension.
Soak your feet in warm water with a few drops of lavender oil – The warm water will increase the circulation in the legs and therefore alleviate the pressure in other parts of the body including your head. Lavender oil sooths and helps relax the mind as well as the body.
Have a cup of chamomile, ginger or rosemary tea – Take a 15 minute break, make yourself a cup of tea and drink it slowly in a quiet room. Chamomile tea has many elements which help reduce pain and relax you. Rosemary tea is the perfect solution for any type of pain. Ginger assists in recovery from headaches, dizziness and especially migraines. Put two pieces of ginger in half a liter of warm water, let it boil and leave it for half an hour.
Have two glasses of water – Believe it or not water can cure headaches. The most common reason for a headache is dehydration. Therefore drinking water is the easiest way to get rid of an annoying headache. When it is hot or you work out never forget to have water even if you are not doing any of these things you always need to stay hydrated.
Have a cup of coffee or coffee with lemon – Most of us at once gravitate towards coffee when they experience headache. Yes, it helps a lot but it is not always the best solution. One or two cups a day is plenty anything more than that is considered harmful. Try coffee with a touch of lemon. You would be surprised.
Tie a headscarf around your forehead – Take scarf or a headscarf and tie it tightly around your head. The headache will decrease immediately. Some people recommend having the headscarf soaked in vinegar.
