When the Las Vegas massacre happened on October 1 where 59 were murdered and over 500 people were injured, one Iraq war veteran was at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, staying in his room. He had a shocking statement concerning the attack, that might change the whole perspective.
As Daily Mail stated, his name is Chris Bethel and he was in LV for an IT convention. The war veteran was staying in his hotel room, when the attacker Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old, launched the deadliest shooting. As CBS Dallas – Fort Worth reported, the Chris Bethel’s room was only 2 floors beneath the attacker room.
On an interview Bethel made with CBS, he revealed something shocking. Before the shooting started, he informed the police, the hotel across the street, and the front desk of the hotel where he was accommodating, about the shooter’s location.
The police arrived at Stephen Paddock’s room after 72 minutes the first phone call. So, Bethel is curious why did the police arrive so late. The police got their first alert of the gunfire at 10:08 pm.
The most worrying fact is that it seems there was an unexplained 24-minute delay, from the moment the SWAT team arrived at Paddock’s room and the time they broke down the door and found him dead at 11:21 p.m.
“It felt like it took them too long to get over there, to take him out,” said Bethel. “And it’s actually eating me up inside. I could just hear the gunshots, continuously. Just full automatic,” Bethel said. “There was explosions going off. It was like a bomb just went off man. And then there were more gunshots.”
Bethel claims he called the Mandalay Bay’s front desk and the police to alarm them that there was a shooter few floors above him, “Seconds are going by, minutes are going by, the rounds are continuously going,” he said. “Changing weapons, changing calibers, you can hear the difference in the gunshots,” Bethel added.
Bethel was watching from his window and he saw the SWAT team going to the wrong place. So, he somehow was able to contact someone to tell “He’s not over there, he’s over here.
